CarrieBI feel confident in my body more now than I ever have.  I have always been an active person and have watched what I eat.  However, in the past year I have taken it to a new level by finally understanding what my trainer has repeatedly stated over the past year.  “Fitness is 80% what you eat. ” Once I realized that you can workout as hard as you want but not see any results until you change your diet has truly changed my training perspective.

Changing my diet and trying new foods has made the most difference to help me achieve my desired results.  I love trying new recipes and by becoming more open minded about how to cook foods and eating smaller meals and incorporating snacks in my diet has changed my nutritional habits.  Furthermore, by adding healthy fats (avocado, olive oil, and nut butters) to my diet has allowed me to understand that not all fats are bad for you and you can choose the right ones to eat.

It has been difficult maintaining my results with my current lifestyle this past year. Getting married recently not only had me improving my nutritional habits but also changing my husbands.  I dragged him to many nutrition classes held at Good Bodies, which helped him understand the importance of nutrition, and discover new foods.  We both learned the importance of supporting each other to eat well and achieve our goals although we do eat our “cheat” meal (one meal one day a week) together.  However, maintaining this lifestyle is a challenge but it is a rewarding one that will always be there to conquer by the hour, the day, the week, the month and the year.
