Testimonial: Heather – Push Your Limits

For me, exercise had always been a priority but the desire to tone and get serious about weight loss became even more important after some major changes occurred in my life. Last August, I became focused on loss weight and was determined to get in the best possible shape regardless of my age. I talked with my trainer, Beth, and she helped me clean up my nutrition and provided me accountability and support. She taught me how to use My Fitness Pal and educated me on the proper foods I needed to be successful. She challenged me during Body Performance group training and we used the bod pod to measure my results. Keeping a daily food log was key. The bod pod results establish a healthy caloric intake for me and the MyFitnesPal app on my phone made food logging easy. I became much more aware of my food choices. With our combined efforts, I have surpassed the goals that I set for myself. The combination of aerobics, strength/core training and diet worked. I have lost a total of 20 lbs, gone from a size 10 to size 4 and feel great about my results. My self confidence & esteem are at an all time high…Simply put, I’m HAPPY! My one piece of advice to anyone wanting to obtain a change in their fitness goals would be to push yourself harder than you think possible. Dig a little deeper and even at 50+ years of age you too will be pleased with the results. I can honestly say that I feel like a new person. Friends and family comment...

Testimonial: Jessica – Wedding Weight Loss

50lb Weight Loss Currently 37 weeks Pregnant Prior to coming to Good Bodies I lost 40 lbs through diet and exercise over about 18 months, then I maintained at 140 for a year or so. I felt ok with my fitness but had a goal of 130 by our wedding – 10 lbs away. David and I worked with Whitey at Good Bodies prior to the wedding, by which time I was down to 132 but much stronger and not about to sweat a couple pounds. After the wedding we started attending Body Performance where I saw my body reshape in subtle but noticeable ways, I also lost a few more pounds and hit my original goal – a total 50lb loss! I also felt that Body Performance made my strength more balanced, I no longer had some really strong areas and really weak areas, everything seemed to be working together better than it ever had. It must have been because then I got pregnant very quickly! Being active going into pregnancy is the best gift I could have given myself. While I couldn’t continue at the same pace or intensity during pregnancy, the fitness and strength I built prior has helped me have a relatively easy pregnancy. Yes, there are some symptoms no one can exercise away, but I didn’t start experiencing many of the ache and pains of pregnancy until much further along than many women seem to. For the remaining 6 weeks of pregnancy I hope to continue doing as much as I can with Body Performance with the goal of expediting my postpartum recovery as...

Decreased her body fat by 17% over a 2 year period I’ve been an athlete my whole life and at 43, I feel I’m in my best shape ever. During my first year of training at Good Bodies (GB), I gained muscle which made me stronger, but at the same time also gained body fat. I was disappointed not to see more changes to my body and soon learned at the GB’s Biggest Change Competition, that nutrition was the missing element. As Beth Dolce said, “Results are 80% food choices”, and this is so true. I only saw body composition results and weight loss after she worked with me on changing my diet, daily food logging on my fitness pal, in addition to participating in Body Performance and Boot camp classes 3-4 times a week. I completely changed my diet from eating fast food and almost no vegetables, to mainly cooking at home, watching my servings and eating healthier foods each day. Doing the BOD POD gave me the number of calories I needed to consume in a day to lose weight and it helped me to learn the number of grams to try and achieve for fats, carbohydrates, proteins and sugars. For my exercise program, I’m so grateful for Beth and her amazing classes. I was seeking something challenging and fun to increase my fitness level and to fill the void of not playing competitive team sports as much anymore, but received so much more! With my increase in muscle and strength, I can finally do some of the things I have never felt I was strong enough...

Before I met Beth, I was at a low point where I felt unhealthy and knew my body was not what it should be. I had always been fairly active but nothing really stuck. I had done various programs from books, DVDs, running, etc. but always gave up when I got bored. My mom had been talking about this class she had been going to with teacher friends and the trainer Beth who always had the most intense workouts. After much encouragement from my mom, I finally decided to try it out. That first day, halfway through the warm up(yes the warm up), I thought I was done for. But, I stuck with it. For the first time, I felt motivated. I wanted to get stronger; I wanted to be better. From that day on, my entire view of fitness changed. I began working out with Beth, and with her help, toned my body, built strength, and learned about nutrition and how to “feed” my body. The biggest thing that I had to learn about nutrition was that eating less doesn’t mean weighing less. I still struggle with body image, but that’s something that may always be an issue for me. One thing I would recommend to someone who wants to make a healthy change in their life is to find someone who can help you make a plan for fitness and nutrition and find a workout buddy, who will keep you...
